20/613 – Do not break the bones

”...neither shall ye break a bone thereof.” (Exodus 12:46)

This is one of the orders for the night of Seder before Pesach.  

We can consider it as a kind of etiquette since we would be very disrespectful if we broke this order during the King’s Feast.   

In other words, do not desecrate a holy feast by turning it into some drinking session.   

Let’s preserve the holiness of the remembering of the Exodus.

We also have been given such a decree concerning the Holy Supper. In this case too, we shouldn’t feast as it was some Greco-Roman banquet celebrating pagan gods...
