Fast and prayer

Fast – from the Hebrew KUM (Kanah – to refrain from)
This is the expression of our repent and love towards God.
(Psalm 69,11 Isaiah 58,1 Zachariah7,5)
There is only one general fast decreed in the Bible:
- the Expiation Day /Yom Kippur/.
The order of importance is here also as follows: stop working, bringing the offerings and to fast finally.
The aim and the role of fasting can never be realized without a complete internal renewing.
(Jeremiah 14,12 - Zachariah7,5 - Isaiah 58,1)
As a consequence of this, fasting for someone else can only be done if we are united with the person or the group of person we are fasting for. We also have to belong to a people in order to fast for the whole community.
This is confirmed by one the Jewish fast called:
"lo ' ahal lechem "...not eating bread...
It means that we have to break off any spiritual relationship with those who are not one with us in spirit.
This is indeed one of the greatest fast: the devotion (kanah)
False fasts...
Some of them are quoted in the Bible:
(In the case of Saul and Ahab in Samuel 28 and 1King 21)
However the false roots of fasts are coming from Jews.
Jews living in the Diaspora claimed already at the time of Philo that fast, alms and prayers replace the offerings of the destroyed Temple.
This Hellenistic way of thinking coming from Jews is still in use among the methods of Christian assemblies and churches today.
Fast for fertility and "success":
An ancient method for this consists in inviting witches, shamans, mediums and other kind of doctors to weddings who are invoking the good spirits during the ceremony.
Their fasts brought them to an ecstatic state of mind.
These ancient pagan behaviors are showing very amazing similarities with the way fast and prayers are used among groups of people who call themselves charismatic. We can find the same cult of spiritual authority used by men who "cure, heal and restore" marriages from the outside.
Their moments of prayer are often last until late in the night are also characterized by screams, noise and a state of psychical speeding up that brings them to ecstasy.
Food and fast
We must also talk about the origin of food fasts.
- According to the ancient beliefs, demons are infecting food.
This way, man can easily be spiritually infected during meals.
They thought that this was particularly effective at night when according to their beliefs evil spirits are more numerous than during the day.
Many times, Christian believers don’t even notice how much they are cultivating this ancient pagan belief when they refuse to eat foods offered by people that they are despising, rejecting and many times judging too.
This is how fasts concerning food can easily turn to an act of judgment or accusation.
Unlike the good will of the extra laws of Jewish kashrut, in this case it is a matter of a serious sin of Christian pharisaism often generated by popular superstitions disguised in charismatic Christianity!
Let us remember the laws concerning the relation between the living and the hereafter.
- We cannot eat in a house where a dead is lying in respect for its spirit.
I wish the roots would be better known. People would better understand the story of Judah. What the spiritual communion between men is about.
We would be able to understand that it is not the swallowed food which is important and which influence the spiritual world. But we are the ones who are opening and closing doors towards good and evil inside of our hearths.
The fast of food can only work if it goes together with a real devotion of our spirit and soul. It can only work if it is the visible sign of our gratitude and repent.
But it should never be used as a tool or a method.
Fast is not a tool to incite the Holy Spirit to come.
In many cases, we must specify the essence of fast that can never be a weapon or a tool for any goal!
Such as charismatic is nor a tool nor a method to get any gift but it is more the natural functioning of the Holy Spirit in the life of the born again man.
There is no existing tool to reach this. We cannot generate, create or increase it.
Not even by fasting since fast is REALLY NOT A TOOL!
If it is used as a tool? It can easily become a weapon in aid of manipulation of souls and charismatic sorcery.
Prayer fast...(?)
This new concept appears more and more in today’s assemblies.
(This word appears many times in the "methodologies" of Christian literature. It was used in our county too as a method for the revival of charismatic communities.)
Since I can hear it more and more, it seems important to me to specify what hides behind this concept.
Fast or prayer?
Or rather the blackmailing of God in order to get his gifts by the use of spiritual violence?
... with false fasts and prayers?
A "Spiritual war" led with the weapons of false fast which can easily prove to be pure charismatic sorcery?
Or it is rather a sincere act but coming from the soul. Anyway, it can have very serious consequences in the life of people who are doing it.
Prayer-fasts can easily be a curse for those they are directed to if they are reached.
Indeed it is a curse if it is not in accordance with the Law, the Order and the Will of God and comes from a human will in order to reach human aims.
The one who is born again and whose life had completely been submitted to our Lord Yeshua HaMashiach will never be reached by such witchcraft and curse.
But in the case of those who had only partially given their lives in the hands of Yeshua, they can easily be reached if they are in spiritual communion with someone using charismatic sorcery.
In other cases, if these behaviors do not bring any change, we can still fell that someone is cursing us and is using witchcraft or other kind of occult spiritual manipulation towards us.
Thus there can’t be any open door!
We have to close every spiritual door. We must ask for the spiritual covering and protection of our Lord. I often ask God myself to receive the gift of discernment to avoid falling into any trap.
The closing of spiritual doors does naturally not mean the rejecting, the judgment or the hate of others but simply the interruption of all spiritual communion with them.
The physical and psychical relationship can even remain intact.
(For example: I can be connected to a religious person as a born again disciple. But I cannot be in spiritual unity with him /Holy Communion, prayers, praise/. )
Those who are manipulating and damaging others by the use of false or mixed spirits will of course be judged by God himself.
One of the forms of this judgment can simply be the return of all their curses on their own heads.
Another form that we can often see is when the person, the assembly or a whole institution simply wastes away since God himself breaks and stops their wrongdoings.
We can often see this kind of phenomenon when after a very enthusiastic and keen start, the flame ends up fading away very fast.
Fast and supplication, fast and prayers
It is not a coincidence if these couple of words are quoted separately on the Bible’s pages.
It is also not a coincidence if most of the time fast and supplication are going together.
What is the difference between these two expressions?
The Jewish community knows the concepts of Fast and Supplication.
There is a time for this each leap year when:
- we are praying and imploring while fasting for the wealth of pregnant women and children.
This has a name:
The fast of SHOVIM TAT
- this word is made of the initials of the different Shabbats that are taking place during this period and means: mischievous.
This is why many think that this tradition is coming from the book of Job, because Job was repenting each day before God for the supposed sins of his children. (Job 1:5)
We are living a period of spiritual and psychical chaos and overflowing.
The world together with the religious communities but also together with Christ’s Body is confused in many subjects of life.
An ancient truth is that the big fish are those who get fat in cloudy waters.
Those who just jovially swallow the little confused fish in the disturbed water.
Let us get rid of the spirit of fear that is stirring us toward false assemblies, communities, prayer groups and other alliances.
Because in period of storm, these swindlers are gathering in movements to snatch the weak, the coward and the anguished people into their net.
They are doing it the Bible in hands and under the name of religious or even charismatic churches.
It would be time to learn what the difference between praying, supplying and imploring is.
It would also be necessary to recognize the essence of the real offering and inside of this the essence of the real fast instead of all these blackmails that we call fast and prayer.
It would be time that the different parts of Christ’s Body were in contact with each other in our country so that the lies and the idols would be cleared off our assemblies.
We should unite so that the masses of false prophets and apostles would never be harmful and would never mislead those who were spiritually kept in infancy.
We have to protect all the victims that were kept in fear and anguish by the weapon of false spiritual authority.
It would also be time that the Body of the Messiah asks God so that his will was realized in this country. Christ’s Body would also have to make all the sacrifices in order that this divine will was realized.
However, no one belonging to Christ’s Body can get closer or be in spiritual communion with people ruled by the spirit of Jezebel, of any idol or charismatic witchcraft.
