Mania - Obsession
Yaakov, Béla Orbán

Obsession or mania can appear in the life of religious people mainly in tree different areas.

1. Fear of death
For this reason someone suffering from obsession observes very strictly all the laws, decrees and rules of his religion.
This is how they are trying to soothe their fear and to get the promises made by their religions.

2. The good and the evil, the righteous and the sinner…
The righteous will go to Paradise. That is why we must be perfect.
This kind of mania comes from the obsession of reaching perfection and keeping it by any means.

3. The purity of the soul and the purification of the body.
These people try to reach psychical and physical purity by regularly praying and taking ritual and purifying bathes.
The excessive importance of formalism, of the way and the frequency of prayers is one of the obvious signs of obsession.

The victims of this disease are trying to content God. Indeed the main cause of obsession and mania are those who invite of even force others to submit themselves to severe pharisaic orders.
This is how people secure their own place in the religious hierarchy of power. They are even acting so by referring to their supposedly spiritual authority or divine unction in order to intercede and ″arrange″ things for their ″subjects″.

These maniacs invite their faithful already infected by the disease to gather under their human yoke.
The weapons they use in order to keep their power are the followings:
Generating the fear of perdition and of falling into sin and dust in case of rebelliousness to their own orders.
And to cap it all, they are also using the tool of ″purifying bathes of soul″ that they use as sorcery.
These ″bathes″ are no other than all the confessions of sins people have to make in public or before the pastor, the fact of digging in the past of others in order to find some ″hidden secrets left″, or even the use of the holy communion by allocating some mystical powers to it.

- The faithful really has to prepare to leave this physical world but there can be absolutely no fear in anyone.

- We all must live in obedience to God. But this is only possible through the knowledge of the Law, by repenting from our sins and by receiving the Lord’s mercy.
Redemption and Salvation can only be obtained by Mercy and not as a consequence of our ″good actions″.

- The process of purification must also start in our lives. Although this never has to happen under human pressure but only by the power of the Holy Spirit which is the only one who can lead us to the Truth.
